In order to better provide you with the services offered through the site, we collect two types of information about our users: Personally Identifiable Information and Nonpersonally Identifiable Information. Our primary goal in collecting information from you is to provide you with well-qualified opportunities to: (a) participate in various surveys, studies, intelligence and/or ephemeral tasks, or evaluations which are administered, offered, hosted, or otherwise provided by or through us (collectively “Tasks” and individually a “Task”), in some cases on behalf of third- party research companies, businesses, and our other clients; and (b) receive certain rewards, prizes, incentives, and other forms of compensation (collectively, “Incentives”) in exchange for completing certain activities on the site, including without limitation responding to Tasks.
We value and respect your privacy and therefore we will assign to you a Random Identification Number (“RID”) which we will use to refer to you in your capacity as a user of the site. When using the site, before participating in a given Task, you may be asked to provide certain information in response to screening questions to determine if you are qualified to participate in a Task (collectively, “Screening Responses”). Your Screening Responses together with your RID will allow you to be matched with Tasks and Incentives for which you may qualify without revealing certain Personally Identifiable Information about you, such as your first name, last name, street address, email address, telephone number, etc. THE SERVICES OFFERED TO YOU THROUGH THE SITE ARE SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED TO FUNCTION ON THE BASIS OF YOUR RID ONLY, IN ORDER TO PROTECT YOUR PERSONAL PRIVACY.
Thus, based on your RID only, your Screening Responses, whether they contain Personally Identifiable Information or Nonpersonally Identifiable Information, will be collected and shared with us and with the third-parties conducting those Tasks in which you may be qualified to participate (such as third-party research companies, businesses, application developers, and our other clients), but this information will not be shared with anyone else and in no event will we share your first name, last name, street address, email address, or telephone number without your consent.
When you consent and agree to provide us with your Personally Identifiable Information and/or Nonpersonally Identifiable Information directly, we act as a “Controller” of such information. Additionally, pursuant to Section 3 (“Release of Information”) below, third-party research companies, businesses, application developers, and our other clients may receive your Personally Identifiable Information and/or Nonpersonally Identifiable Information that is included in your Screening Responses pursuant to your opt-in consent on our site and as such, such third parties are “Joint Controllers” of that information.
Personally Identifiable Information: This refers to information that lets us know the specifics of who you are. When you engage in certain activities on this site, such as registering for an Account, submitting content and/or posting content in discussion forums or other public areas, entering a contest, sweepstakes or engaging in other activities to earn Incentives, responding to Tasks, or sending us feedback, we may ask you to provide certain information about yourself by filling out and submitting an online form. It is completely optional for you to engage in these activities, however, in order to participate in these activities, we require your opt-in consent prior to collection and processing of such information.
If you elect to engage in these activities, and in particular responding to Tasks, you may be asked to provide certain personal information, such as your first and last name, mailing address (including zip code), email address, employer, job title and department, telephone and facsimile numbers, demographic information (such as age, gender, level of education, marital status, ethnicity/race (if legally permitted), health related information, and other personal identifying information, as well as nonpersonally Identifiable Information about other members of your household. Before providing any information about the other members of your household, you must first obtain, and you hereby represent and warrant that you have so obtained, consent from said household members to share any such information about them. Depending upon the activity, some of the information you may be asked to provide is identified as mandatory and some as voluntary. If you do not provide the mandatory data with respect to a particular activity, you may not be able to engage in that activity.
Nonpersonally Identifiable Information: This refers to information that does not by itself identify a specific individual. We gather certain information about you based upon where you visit on our site in several ways. This information is compiled and analyzed on both a personal and an aggregated basis and we may combine and synchronize Nonpersonally Identifiable Information with information you actively submit (including Personally Identifiable Information), and/or with information that we receive from third parties. This information may include the Web site's Uniform Resource Locator (“URL”) that you just came from, which URL you next go to, what browser you are using, and your Internet Protocol (“IP”) address. Additionally, when visiting the site or reviewing our emails, we may store information about your IP Address and your interactions with our site and our emails, i.e., through pixels or similar technologies.
For your reference, a URL is the global address of documents and other resources on the World Wide Web. An IP address is an identifier for a computer or device on a Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (“TCP/IP”) network, such as the World Wide Web. Networks like the Web use the TCP/IP protocol to route information based on the IP address of the destination. In other words, an IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer whenever you are surfing the web, allowing web servers to locate and identify your computer. Computers require IP addresses in order for users to communicate on the Internet.
We do not collect any Personally Identifiable Information about you unless you voluntarily provide it to us. You provide certain Personally Identifiable Information to us when you: (a) register for our services, register your email address with us and provide Screening Responses in connection with Tasks conducted by or through us; (b) enter sweepstakes or contests sponsored by us or one of our partners, or perform actions on the site to receive certain Incentives; (c) sign up for special offers or respond to Tasks from selected third parties; (d) create a user profile with your Account, send messages, submit forms, or transmit other information by email, phone, or other methods of communication in connection with the site. We may also collect information from you at other points on our site which state that such information is being collected.
In addition, we may also collect, or our third-party content server may collect, certain Nonpersonally Identifiable Information. This information is ultimately stored in the form of store categories, and, in some cases, specific URLs. We use your IP address to diagnose problems with our servers, software, to administer our site and to gather demographic information. We will primarily use your Personally Identifiable Information to provide our services to you, including opportunities to participate in Tasks and receive Incentives from us and from third-parties, as required by our agreements with you. We will also use Personally Identifiable Information and Nonpersonally Identifiable Information to enhance the operation of our site, improve our marketing and promotional efforts (e.g., through Facebook Pixel), reduce fraud or illegal activity, statistically analyze site use (e.g., through Google Analytics), improve our product and service offerings, confirm that you have completed certain Tasks or have earned specific Incentives, and customize and improve our site's content, layout, and services (for example, by setting session cookies so that you do not have to repeatedly enter the same information). Note that the Google Analytics and Facebook Pixel software collects and stores information in accordance with their own privacy policies, available at https://policies.google.com/privacy and https://www.facebook.com/privacy/explanation respectively, which information may include your Personally Identifiable Information and Nonpersonally Identifiable Information. Therefore, please review Google’s and Facebook’s respective policies carefully and note that by using our site, you are indicating that you agree to these policies.
You may opt-out from receiving email notifications from us which are for marketing or promotional purposes (by following the instructions made available on the site), but you may not opt-out of our administrative, security, or similar notices, though you may delete your Account with us at any time, after which time you will no longer receive such notices from us. You may also revoke your consent or otherwise object to our processing of your Personally Identifiable Information at any time, on any legitimate basis, by contacting us at email@example.com, in which case we will apply your preferences to all subsequent activities, provided, however, that this may limit your ability to use certain aspects of the site.
We do not sell, trade, or rent your Personally Identifiable Information to others without your consent. We do provide some of our services through contractual arrangements with third-party services providers and/or subprocessors. We and our service partners and/or subprocessors will use your Personally Identifiable Information only to operate our sites and to deliver their services to you; for example, domain hosting, website security, data analytics, information technology and infrastructure, technology maintenance, email deliverability, customer service, payment and redemption of Incentives, and related services. We may also share your Personally Identifiable Information and Nonpersonally Identifiable Information to develop statistics about online activity on an aggregated basis, or otherwise with your consent. Please review our https://300large.com/subprocessors/ page for a current list of our subprocessors.
When we share your Personally Identifiable Information with a third-party service provider and/ or subprocessor, we will: (a) transfer such data only for limited and specified purposes; (b) ascertain that the third-party service provider and/or subprocessor is obligated to provide at least the same level of privacy protection as is required by the Principles; (c) take reasonable and appropriate steps to ensure that the third-party service provider and/or subprocessor effectively processes the relevant personal information transferred in a manner consistent with our obligations under the Principles; (d) require the third-party service provider and/or subprocessor to notify us if it makes a determination that it can no longer meet its obligation to provide the same level of protection as is required by the Principles; (e) upon notice, including under 3(d), take reasonable and appropriate steps to stop and remediate unauthorized processing; and (f) provide a summary or a representative copy of the relevant privacy provisions of our contract with that third-party service provider and/or subprocessor to the US Department of Commerce upon request.
We shall remain liable under the EU-US and SW-US Privacy Shield Principle of Accountability for Onward Transfer if our third-party service providers and/or subprocessors process your Personally Identifiable Information in a manner inconsistent with the Principles, unless we demonstrate that we are not responsible for the event which gave rise to the damage.
Additionally, based on your RID, we may share certain Personally Identifiable Information or Nonpersonally Identifiable Information that you provide to us in any Screening Responses in order to make available to you certain Task and/or Incentive opportunities through the site for which you may qualify, including those from third-party research companies, businesses, application developers, and our other clients. If you choose to complete a Task for which you qualify, then while completing such Task you may then choose to share additional Personally Identifiable Information or Nonpersonally Identifiable Information with the specific third-party conducting the applicable Task (collectively, “Response Information”). This Response Information may then be used by the relevant third-party for their own research and/or business purposes, including without limitation being shared with their own clients, vendors, acquirers, successors, or assignees (e.g., in the event of a merger or acquisition). Aside from Response Information that you share directly with third-parties (by choosing to complete specific Tasks), in no event will we share your Response Information, or any information about the Tasks for which you qualify or the Tasks which you have completed.
Please note that in connection with your Personally Identifiable Information, Nonpersonally Identifiable Information, Screening Responses shared with us, or Response Information shared with our third-party services partners, or our third-party clients, such information may be transferred to and stored in a country other than your country of residence, including without limitation the United States. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the manner in which such information may be shared and stored, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org, or you may also opt-out completely by deleting your Account on the site. We will encourage our third-party service partners and clients to adopt and post privacy policies. However, the use of your Personally Identifiable Information by our third-party service partners and clients is governed by the privacy policies of those third-party service partners and clients, and is not subject to our control.
Occasionally we may be required by law enforcement or judicial authorities to provide Personally Identifiable Information to the appropriate governmental authorities. We will disclose Personally Identifiable Information upon receipt of a court order, subpoena, or to cooperate with a law enforcement investigation, or to protect the safety and integrity of our site, users of our site, the public, or other parties as deemed appropriate in our sole discretion. We fully cooperate with law enforcement agencies in identifying those who use our services for illegal activities. We reserve the right to report to law enforcement agencies any activities that we in good faith believe to be unlawful. You hereby consent to our sharing of your Personally Identifiable Information and Nonpersonally Identifiable Information under the particular circumstances set forth in this Section.
We believe you should have the ability to access and edit the Personally Identifiable Information that you have provided to us. You may change any of your Personally Identifiable Information in your account online at any time by editing your Account information in accordance with instructions posted elsewhere on this site. We encourage you to promptly update your Personally Identifiable Information if it changes. You may ask to have the information on your account deleted or removed; however, because we keep track of past transactions, you cannot delete information associated with past transactions on this site. In addition, it may be impossible to completely delete your information without some residual information because of backups.
We may, from time to time, send you email, push notifications, and/or SMS text messages regarding our products and services. In addition, if you indicated upon registration that you are interested in receiving offers or information from us and our partners or clients, we may occasionally send you direct mail, email, push notifications, and/or SMS text messages regarding certain products, services, and opportunities for Tasks and Incentives that we feel may be of interest to you. Only GRL (or agents working on behalf of GRL and under confidentiality agreements) will send you these communications and only if you indicated that you do not object to these offers.
